Google’s got something new cooking for its AI helper, Gemini. They’re adding a cool tool called “Deep Research” Let’s check out what this means for you!
Â
What’s Deep Research?
Deep Research is a new Gemini feature that will help you dig into big topics. Google says it can:
- Do in-depth research for you.
- Take info from lots of places.
- Give you a simple, complete plan.
Â
What’s New with Gemini?
Google shared some exciting news on social media after their big event. They’re giving Gemini a new superpower:
- It can do deep research for you.
- It will sum up what it finds.
- You’ll get a simple, complete plan.
This new feature should be ready in just a few weeks. Google’s also adding other cool stuff they showed off at their event.

How It Works
Deep research is made to help with tricky tasks. It can:
- Gather info from many sources.
- Put together big reports.
Google showed an example of how it might help a restaurant owner in Seattle add a sidewalk café. Gemini would research things like:
- What permits you need
- How to apply
- What kind of shelter can you use?
- How long it takes
- How much it costs
- Examples of others who’ve done it
Gemini tells you it will look at web pages, think about what it finds, and make a full report.

What It Might Be Good For
Google says Deep Research can help you:
- Make big decisions.
- Look at lots of sources.
- Start projects you don’t know much about.

What We Don’t Know Yet
Google hasn’t shown any example reports or said exactly how Gemini will find its info. We’re not sure how well it will work or how it might change the way people use search engines.

Looking Ahead
We’ll be watching to see how this new tool does and if it changes how people find and use information online. It’s an exciting time for AI and search!
